Just came across https://sansinscription.com while mulling over the Cardinal's words, and the idea of being truly present without any formal label reminded me of his call for clergy to walk with the people rather than stand apart. It's a subtle shift, but it changes everything about how authority is exercised. I'll be thinking about that for a long time.
